Unshakable Promises – Week 2: Promise of Renewed Strength | October 20–24

When you feel drained, worn thin by life’s demands, or simply tired of carrying burdens, take heart. God has not forgotten you. His promise is sure: He will renew your strength as you lean on Him. The waiting may be hard, but it is not wasted. In the waiting, He lifts you. In the trusting, He steadies you. And in His presence, you will discover that weariness does not have the final word—His strength does. Put your hope in the God who never grows tired.

Put It into Practice: Set aside 5 minutes daily for silence before God, intentionally “waiting” on Him instead of rushing. Share Isaiah 41:10 with someone who feels anxious or afraid this week.

Day 1 Isaiah 40:12-24

Reflect: How do these verses describe the vastness of God’s power and wisdom? What did you learn about God from the comparisons made between God and the nations or rulers of the earth?

Apply: Where in your life are you tempted to rely on human strength instead of God’s greatness? How does remembering God’s power change the way you view your own challenges?

Pray: God, I praise You that You are the One who holds all things in the palm of Your hand. In times of weakness, I can trust that You have and will empower, enable and strengthen me to face the challenges of this world.

Day 2 Isaiah 40:25-31

Reflect:  What is important about the question that God asks in verse 25? What more do you learn about God’s character from this text? Describe the promise you see here and what it means to you.

Apply: In what areas of your life do you feel most weary or weak right now? What would it look like for you to “renew your strength” by waiting on the Lord? Why is waiting necessary sometimes?

Pray: Heavenly Father, help me to wait trustfully for Your lead and timing, knowing that You are always at work. Grant me peace to “soar on wings like eagles,” to run and not grow weary, to walk and not faint, as I lean into Your strength.

Day 3 Isaiah 41:1-10

Reflect: How do the questions asked here help us to learn about God and His role in the world? What assurance does God give His people? How does God promise to deal with their enemies?

Apply:  What fears do you need to bring before God and surrender to His care? How have you used or relied on God’s promise, “I will strengthen you and help you”? Who else needs to hear this?

Pray: Thank You, God, for Your amazing presence that surrounds me and for the strength You provide. I choose to trust Your promises that You are with me.

Day 4 Psalm 28:1-9

Reflect: Describe what David is seeking from the Lord and why. Where are you with the claim David makes in verse 7? What other words of this psalm bring you comfort and why?

Apply: When have you experienced crying out to God for mercy and knowing Him as your “strength and shield”? How can you turn to God in prayer first instead of relying on yourself? Make it a habit!

Pray:  Father God, I praise You and thank You that You are my strength, my shield, and my comfort. Help me take every thought captive to Christ when circumstances arise that would otherwise overwhelm me and cause me fear. I declare that the joy of the Lord is my strength!

Day 5 Ephesians 3:14-19

Reflect: Describe the kind of strength Paul is praying for believers to receive. How does that compare with what God is promising in Isaiah 41:10? How does Paul describe God’s love? What connection do you see between God’s power and His love?

Apply: What strength do you receive from understanding God’s deep love for you? How can you practice rooting yourself more deeply in God’s love this week?

Pray: Abba Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches, You would strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith.
