Unshakable Promises – Week 6: Promise of Paradise | November 17–21

This broken world is not the end of the story. In Isaiah, God paints a breathtaking vision of what’s to come. For those who know God, paradise is not a distant dream but a promised reality. Every sorrow, every injustice, every tear will one day be wiped away in His new creation. The pain of the present will give way to the joy of His presence. Paradise is not just a place we will go; it is a future we are already moving toward because of Christ, so keep one eye on eternity as you live each day.

Put It into Practice: Make it a habit to live with “forever” in view. When faced with a frustration or sorrow, pause and remind yourself: “This is temporary. The best is yet to come.” Notice the differences you feel when doing so.

Day 1 Isaiah 65:17–25

Reflect: Why do you think God begins His promise of renewal by urging us to forget the “former things”? How does this vision challenge your understanding of what true flourishing looks like?

Apply: Which promise gives you the most hope as you look at your life or the world around you? How might living with this eternal perspective change the way you respond to present sorrows?

Pray: God, I desire to experience the new creation You promise. I will place my trust and hope in You and exemplify joy and peace in this world, here and now.

Day 2 Isaiah 11:1-9

Reflect: How does the Spirit’s presence shape the way the Messiah leads and judges? How is this vision different from the kind of leadership and justice we see in the world today?

Apply: What part of Christ’s reign—wisdom, righteousness, peace—do you most long to see more of in your life right now? In what other ways have you thought that our future paradise will look like?

Pray: Lord, I ask that Your Spirit be poured out on the leaders of my community, city, this nation, and around the world. Fill them with wisdom and understanding and guide them towards peace.

Day 3 Isaiah 35:8-10

Reflect: Why do you think God describes salvation as a “highway”? What does that suggest about the faith journey? How does the promise of everlasting joy contrast with our current temporary joys?

Apply: What obstacles or detours threaten to pull you off God’s highway now? How can you take a concrete step this week to walk more fully in His holiness? How may a focus on paradise help?

Pray: Jesus, You are the way, the truth, and the life. I will trust You to protect me while guiding my steps, keeping me on the Way of Holiness and granting me everlasting joy and peace as I journey towards Your presence.

Day 4 John 14:1-4

Reflect: Why do you think Jesus ties the command “Do not let your hearts be troubled” to the promise of His Father’s house? What does this reveal about the connection between trust & hope?

Apply: Where do you need to rest in Jesus’ assurance rather than in your own understanding of the future? How can the promise of a prepared place free you from fear and help you live with courage?

Pray:  I thank You, Lord Jesus, that You are preparing a place for me in my Father’s house! Help me to live with this hope, trust in Your plan, and follow as You guide me towards You and my eternal home.

Day 5 Luke 23:39-43

Reflect: What does Jesus’ immediate promise in verse 43 reveal about His authority and mercy? How does this scene at the cross reshape your understanding of salvation and grace?

Apply: Where do you need to rest in the truth that salvation is God’s gift, not your performance? How can you live with the same hope as the thief—confident that Jesus holds your future?

Pray: Heavenly Father, I trust in Your compassion and mercy, acknowledging that I can never earn my way into Your presence. Open my heart to receive Your freely given gift of salvation, just as the thief did.
